The ethos, pathos and logos of my public space

Thinking about ethos, pathos and logos into our spaces is a good way to enrich our essays.

For my space, after I went to my favorite restaurant P F Chang several times, there is one thing I really define that is the line is always very long if you get there after 6 on weekend. Because most of people want to go there eat dinner not lunch. It spent me a long time on waiting for a table. However, we took a walk in downtown and took some pictures for my research.

Ethos is an appeal to credibility and character. I think the long line shows Ethos certainly. Long line means many people may like it very much. It also means this restaurant has its own character that other restaurant does not have. It attracts many people from everywhere absolutely.

Pathos is about emotion. This restaurant shows it in many areas. I also want to talk about the line. People in the line are usually sitting on the benches which are in the front of the restaurant. They are normally listening to the iPod, chatting, calling friends or taking pictures. These are all showing their different emotions when they are waiting. The environment here is just so comfy even you are in the line.

Logos is an appeal to logic. The line is a fact from my observation. It proves P F Chang has high popularity as a evidence.

  1. I agree the point the long line shows the popularity among the people, but I also think that the long line will give people an emtional inpression that says "they might be getting great food their, otherwise why the line is soooo long?"
