In Class: free writing

I had a very good Thanksgiving. I went to Austin and San Antonio with my friends. We saw the university of Texas at Austin and the riverwalk in the daytime. Then we drove back to Austin to eat dinner. We ate Japanese food sushi but they are a little bit expensive because we need to pay extra tip for Thanksgiving break.
At night, we went to the downtown Austin. there is so beautiful and we took a lot of pictures. we also went to 6th street which is really popular for bars. However, we did not enter them, just for visiting.

U3 proposal

1. The topic what we choose is PC vs. Mac. We are arguing in favor of PC's

2. We are describing the advantages and disadvantages of PC's and Macs. We will talk about the competition between PC's and Macs. We will present the debate in different ways.

3. Audience: Companies that use many computers who need suggestion on which one to buy. And also, individual customers like students. Sometimes, students who studying in different majors may choose different one. For example, usually graph design major students choose Mac but literary students choose PC.

4. We will use video interviews to show the feedback of customers.
We will also make an advertisement video for a brand of PC to show our view.
Our third genre will be a magazine article.
Everything will be presented via PPT.

In Class: what did you learn from the reading

The reading is taking about the visual argument. we can see many thing in our life are visual arguments. TV, ads, poster and DVDs etc. they make our life wonderful.
The visual argument gave me some ideas about U3. in U3, we can also use visual argument to make our project better. Do not just some words, we should add some pictures and videos.

In Class: Reading reflection

The reading what I read last night is talking about style in arguments.
Arguments have their own styles. Style of word choice, sentence structure and punctuation are all important for one argument.

U3:Job title and description

My job has two parts in our group. one is to review our work and make sure we go the right way on our project. the other one is make a conclusion when we finish part of work. Giving my group a summary and making a plan for the next work is probably my job. My primary responsibility is to be sure we finish all the work before the deadline. I prefer we do it as quick as possible, so that i can have enough time to review them. Then, I will revise our task, give some suggestions and make some changes to make our task better than before.

My job title was surgery which is my group member made for me but I think auditor is more fit for me. the job of a auditor is to check accountant's work. review the work and make sure she or he did right. which is really like my job in our group. I hope my group member would like my new title.

Magician: Rob: Takes the responsibility of creative elements and ideas
Secretary: Shuai: Take notes, make plans and contact group member

In Class:writing group

My group should be very creative. everyone in the group like to talk and share their ideas. I prefer we can have conversations more than once, not via skype or email to discuess our projects, because sometimes people want to save time don't want to meet each other to do the project. they can wear whatever they like and feel free to eat during the conversation.just be comfort.

IN CLASS:reflection on primary source

I got my three primary sources from three different places. one is from a blog, one is a letter and the other one is a speech. these are all kind like really long, about three pages for each. when i read them i highlight something important in the source. i try to analysis them sentence to sentence. I tried to focus on finding something appeal to ethos, pathos and logos. two of my sources were really appealing ethos, pathos and logos. however, the other one was only appealing to pathos.
